Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 22, 2026

This policy explains what Voyagera collects, why, and the choices you have. We keep it short on purpose — if anything is unclear, just ask.

Voyagera (“Voyagera”, “we”, “us”) provides a travel-planning app and website (the “Service”). This policy applies to your use of the Service. By using it, you agree to the practices described here.

Plain-English summary: we collect what we need to build your trips and run the app, we don't sell your data, and much of your trip content is stored on your device. The sections below are the details.

1.Information we collect

We collect only what the Service needs to work:

  • Account details — such as your name, email, and sign-in identifiers, if you create an account.
  • Trip content you create — destinations, dates, itineraries, notes, bookings, budgets, saved places, reactions (likes/passes), packing and bucket lists.
  • Precise location — your device's location, only on the two features that ask for it: Check-in (tap to log where a stop is) and “Guide for here” (generate an audio guide for your surroundings). Both are foreground-only and start when you tap — the app uses no background location. You can turn the permission off anytime in your device settings.
  • Device & usage data — app version, device type, general region, and first-party usage analytics: anonymous counts of which features you use, plus tallies of in-app errors, that help us keep the app stable and decide what to improve. This is counts only — never your trip content, messages, search text, or location — and we use no third-party analytics or advertising trackers. You can turn it off anytime in the app under Settings → Usage analytics.
  • Content you choose to publish — trips you make public through the Explore feature.

We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information, and we ask that you not enter it into your trips.

2.How we use it

  • To create, personalize, and improve your itineraries and recommendations.
  • To operate features you use — maps, audio guides, weather, events, and travel details.
  • To maintain, secure, debug, and improve the Service.
  • To communicate with you about the Service when needed.
  • To comply with law and enforce our Terms.

3.AI-powered features

Some features — itinerary generation, the planning concierge, place suggestions, and audio guides — use artificial intelligence provided by Google (its Gemini models). To produce a result, the relevant details you provide (such as your destination, dates, and preferences, and, for “Guide for here,” your device location) are sent to Google and processed under Google's own terms. Google may use data sent to these AI services to operate and improve its services — so this is not processing carried out solely on our behalf. We send only what the feature needs and add no identifiers of our own, but because this data is handled under Google's terms, please don't enter sensitive personal information into AI features. This processing may take place on servers in the United States. AI output can be inaccurate or incomplete — please review the Terms before relying on it.

4.Where your data lives

Much of your trip content is stored locally on your device. When the Service syncs, backs up, or a feature requires it, that data is also stored on our backend, hosted on Supabase. We and our providers may process your data in the United States and other countries, which may have data-protection laws different from your own. Where we transfer personal data out of the UK or EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

5.Who we share with

We do not sell your data or use it for cross-app advertising. To run the app we rely on a small set of providers, each receiving only what its feature needs:

  • Supabase — hosts our backend: your account, synced trips, trip chat, published plans, and uploaded cover photos.
  • Google — the Gemini AI behind our AI features, which handles the data you send it under Google's own terms and may use it to improve its services (see section 3); and Google Sign-In if you choose it.
  • Apple — Sign in with Apple, and Apple Maps places/directions on iOS.
  • Open-Meteo (weather & geocoding), OpenStreetMap / Overpass / Photon (place search), Wikipedia / Wikimedia and Unsplash (place & cover photos), Nager.Date (public holidays), and, where enabled, Ticketmaster (local events) — these receive a place or destination name, never your identity.
  • Apple Maps / Google Maps — when you tap “Get directions,” we hand off to your maps app; and a shared plan may embed Instagram or TikTok videos your device loads directly from those platforms. Their own privacy terms then apply.

Our service providers above act on our behalf under appropriate obligations. Calling any provider may reveal your device's IP address to it as a normal part of the request; we add no tracking identifiers of our own.

6.Sharing and publishing

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only:

  • With service providers who process it on our behalf under appropriate obligations.
  • When you choose to publish a trip — published plans are visible to others and are stripped of exact dates, but you control what you publish.
  • To comply with law, respond to lawful requests, or protect the rights, safety, and property of Voyagera, our users, or others.
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.

7.Your choices and rights

  • You can edit or delete your trip content in the app, and you can unpublish public trips.
  • You can permanently delete your account and its data at any time — in the app under Settings → Delete account & data, or by request. See Delete your account for step-by-step instructions.
  • You can turn off usage analytics anytime in the app under Settings → Usage analytics. It's on by default to help us improve the app, and switching it off stops that collection immediately.
  • You can control location and notification permissions in your device settings.
  • Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, or to object to certain processing. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity first.

8.Data retention

We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service and for legitimate business or legal purposes, then delete or anonymize it. Content stored only on your device is removed when you delete it or uninstall the app.

9.Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials safe.

10.Children

The Service is not directed to children, and is not intended for anyone under the age of 16 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

11.Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the “Last updated” date above, and material changes may be highlighted in the app. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
